This intuitive new tool allows teachers to build a family of pre- or mid-tests for a unit of work to identify gaps in student knowledge.

Teachers can then set follow-up work using the Interactive Textbook resources such as video demonstrations for worked examples, Now You Try questions and further practice questions to help address these gaps.

A system-generated post-test allows teachers to check again for understanding.

A range of reports on class and individual results give teachers important insight into student growth and attainment.

Similarities in the structure of the Year 7-9 CORE series and the mainstream Essential Mathematics series allows teachers to run them in parallel and gives the flexibility to move back to the standard course before Year 10.

Two separate working programs are subtly embedded in every exercise in the student text, offering ‘Growth’ and ‘Standard’ pathways throughout.

More emphasis is placed on revision with clearly labelled Consolidating sections. Gold Star sections provide an extra challenge.

An introduction to algorithmic thinking at every year level is delivered in an accessible, highly teachable activity-based chapter.

A NEW set of PowerPoint documents for classroom presentation include the Lesson Starter, Key Ideas, Building Understanding questions, worked examples and Now You Try questions for each section.

Teachers can use these presentations to guide lessons, focus students’ attention and promote class or group discussion before students work on exercise questions.

A set of 12 Investigations, co-created with ATSIMA (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Mathematics Alliance), facilitate the authentic teaching and learning of the elaborations related to First Nations Peoples' perspectives in the Victorian Curriculum.

Downloadable worked solutions are available in the teacher resources for all exercises, and teachers can choose to make them available to students in the Interactive Textbook.

Downloadable and editable worksheets and solutions are available in the teacher resources.

Downloadable skillsheets, also available in the student Interactive Textbook, focus on a single skill or small set of related skills and can be set for homework or completed in class.
