New targeted skillsheets are included for every section and focus on a single skill or small set of closely related skills. Each skillsheet has a related worked example from the textbook and a video demonstration in the Interactive Textbook to help embed each skill.  

Engaging new technology and computational thinking activities in every chapter meet the requirements of the Victorian Curriculum v2.0 and also give students the skills to use technology such as spreadsheets and calculators that they will encounter in the workplace and in life.  

These new activities also provide an accessible introduction to algorithms. 

Students are given opportunities to apply and consolidate their learning through scaffolded and open-ended tasks such as Investigations, Problem-solving and Maths@work activities and new Modelling activities in every chapter.  

The second edition continues to provide a practical interpretation of the Victorian Curriculum to help students who require additional support to meet the minimum requirements of the Achievement Standards. The proven teaching and learning formula, combined with innovative digital capabilities, supports students to master the basics of applied mathematics in everyday life and in the workplace.

Interactive quizzes and pop-up definitions in the Interactive Textbook are written specifically for these students.
