GK Powers
GK Powers is a former the Head of Mathematics at a NSW school. He is an experienced classroom teacher, having taught for over 30 years in a range of different schools. Greg has been a senior marker for the HSC, an educational consultant for the Metropolitan South West Region and presented at numerous MANSW in services. He has also enjoyed several curriculum roles with the Department of Education and Training. Greg is an experienced author who has written numerous texts on mathematics and technology.
Stuart Palmer
Stuart Palmer is a fully qualified high school mathematics teacher with more than 25 years’ experience teaching students from all walks of life in a variety of schools. He has been Head of Mathematics in two schools. He is very well known by teachers throughout the state for the professional learning workshops he delivers. Stuart also assists thousands of Year 12 students every year as they prepare for their HSC Examinations. At the University of Sydney, Stuart spent more than a decade running tutorials for pre-service mathematics teachers.
Christina Barbara
Christina Barbara has been a dedicated high school mathematics teacher for over 20 years and is currently teaching at a Catholic high school in the Diocese of Parramatta. She has taught a wide range of students, from those requiring numeracy support in Year 7 to accelerated classes and Extension 2 Mathematics at the HSC level. She also prepared students for the HSC, serving as an HSC Study Session Facilitator at Western Sydney University. Christina takes great joy in sharing her passion for mathematics with her students, and thrives on tutoring and mentoring, helping students grow, excel, and reach their full potential.
Darren Thomas
Darren Thomas has worked in numerous high schools in the ACT and NSW for over 20 years. He owned a business specialising in supporting students with learning difficulties for 10-15 years. He is currently the Head of Mathematics at a high school in North- West Sydney. He is passionate about mentoring staff and seeing them grow and develop. Since returning to the classroom in 2014 he has guided students to become independent learners who drive their own education.

Bill Pender
Dr Bill Pender is retired Subject Master in Mathematics at Sydney Grammar School, where he taught from 1975 to 2009. He has an MSc and PhD in Pure Mathematics from Sydney University, with theses in geometry and group theory, and a BA(Hons) in Early English from Macquarie University. He spent a year at Bonn University in Germany, and he has lectured and tutored at Sydney University, and at the University of NSW where he was a Visiting Fellow in 1989. He was a member of the NSW Syllabus Committee in Mathematics for two years and subsequently of the Review Committee for the Years 9–10 Advanced Syllabus, and has contributed extensively to syllabus discussions over the last 30 years. He was a member of the AMSI Mathematics Education Committee for several years, and an author of the ICE-EM Years 7–10 textbooks for the National Curriculum.
David Sadler
David Sadler is a retired Mathematics teacher. He taught for 36 years at Sydney Grammar School and was Head of Mathematics for 7 years. He also taught at UNSW for one year. He was an HSC marker for many years and has been a presenter at various conferences and professional development courses. He has a strong passion for excellence in mathematics education and has previously co-authored several senior texts for Cambridge University Press.
Derek Ward
Derek Ward taught Mathematics at Sydney Grammar School for 31 years, and was Master in Charge of Examination Statistics for 20 years. He has an MSc in Applied Mathematics and a BScDipEd, both from the University of NSW, where he was subsequently Senior Tutor for three years. He has a keen interest in mathematics education and has co-authored several other texts for Cambridge University Press & Assessment, as well as internal publications for Sydney Grammar School.
Brian Dorofaeff
Dr Brian Dorofaeff is currently Subject Master in Mathematics at Sydney Grammar School. He is an experienced classroom teacher, having taught for over 20 years in New South Wales. He has previous experience in HSC marking and has been on the HSC Mathematics Examination Committee. Brian holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of New South Wales.
William McArthur
William McArthur has been a Mathematics teacher for 15 years, and has taught at Sydney Grammar School since 2016. He has a BSc in Mathematics, a BEd, and an MEd(Assessment and Evaluation), all from the University of NSW. He has presented at HSC Mathematics revision seminars, and worked with pre-service Mathematics teachers at the University of Notre Dame. William has experience in HSC marking, and has been involved with the NSW Stage 6 Mathematics curriculum review.
