Provides tools to scaffold learning

Our experienced author team of practising teachers have comprehensively reviewed the new Study Design to ensure Cambridge Senior Science Psychology VCE reflects changes such as:
•Increased focused on key science skills and scientific investigation methodologies; 

• Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander knowledge, cultures and history; 
• Critical and creative thinking in questions and activities; 
• Ethical understanding; 
• Terms used in data and measurement, including errors, uncertainty and outliers.
  

• All questions in the textbook can be answered in the Interactive Textbook and teachers can choose to give students access to the suggested responses to self-assess. Teachers can view student responses and provide direct feedback in the Interactive Textbook. 
• The Task Manager in the Online Teaching Suite also helps teachers to allocate work geared to a student’s progress and ability.
  

Focuses on what students really need to know

Teachers know what their students really need to master in order to achieve VCE success and this series has been written from the ground up to support teachers to deliver just that – exactly the skills and the knowledge required without the inessential content that can distract and overwhelm students.

Supports skills development

• Each textbook includes two chapters on the key science skills required across Units 1 to 4 (Chapter 1 Scientific investigation, planning, ethics and safety, and Chapter 2 Recording and analysing data, drawing and communicating conclusions). Teachers can integrate the material into lessons or use as reference material. The chapters are repeated in Units 3 and 4 but with different questions and activities. 
• Skills boxes in every section offer advice on how to approach assessment tasks and exam questions, as well as what skills students should master to achieve a strong assessment result. Some sections have skills boxes on science skills. Narrated screen capture videos offer alternative ways of learning the skills.
  

Downloadable practical activities and investigations

The Online Teaching Suite provides downloadable practicals and modifiable documents for experiments, open-ended investigations or ideas for activities that meet the requirements of the science investigation skills component of the Study Design. These practicals can be used by teachers as part of the school assessed course (SAC) work.
