Auto-marked quizzes from Year 9 & 10 content of Cambridge Science for the Victorian Curriculum can be accessed for prior knowledge. Units 1&2 material can be accessed in the Units 3&4 Interactive Textbook.
Videos
Concept videos demonstrate important theory and teacher-led skills and worked example videos provide extra guidance and explanation. QR codes for selected videos in the print textbook provide immediate access.
Concept maps
Interactive concept maps show how chapters are constructed and hyperlinks provide an alternative means of navigation through the content.
Interactive animations
Animations of key concepts and process diagrams in PowerPoint files can be downloaded for students to work at their own pace, or presented as class demonstrations.
Success Criteria checklist
Checklists are downloadable or will auto-populate online when correct answers are entered in the linked chapter review multiple-choice questions or when students self-assess as correct in the short-answer questions.
Workspaces
Workspaces allow students to enter their own working (including scientific notation) directly into the Interactive Textbook for all short-answer questions. Answers can be typed, drawn or uploaded on a computer or tablet device.
Self-assessment tools
Self-assessment tools allow students to check their answers (where teachers have enabled access to the suggested responses), self-assess their working using a four-point scale and use a red flag to alert their teacher if they had trouble with a question. These tools also link short-answer questions to the chapter checklists.
Downloadable worksheets
Worksheets with additional questions and activities are provided for most chapters and are indicated by an icon in the print textbook. Answers are provided in the Online Teaching Suite.
Scorcher
Online, timed Scorcher quizzes on physics terminology are available in chapter reviews and show results on a leader board across the school cohort.
