Digital resources bring learning to life

  • Compelling, relevant and future-focused content covers all required knowledge and skills as it encourages students to explore the interrelationship between health, body, mind and movement; the many barriers to health and movement; the importance of culturally-responsive health and movement practices; and opportunities to improve health and wellbeing outcomes for themselves, their community and beyond.

  • Contemporary case studies of a variety of demographic groups and geographic locations not only reflect the diverse make-up of the Health and Movement Science classroom but encourage students to make connections between local, national and international experiences.

  • Clearly labelled activities invite students to apply the key skills of collaboration, analysis, communication, creative thinking, problem-solving and research to the concepts in each chapter

  • Think Critically and Apply activities ask students to draw on higher order thinking skills as they explore concepts in more depth.

  • Practical applications encourage students to actively and creatively explore, demonstrate, review and communicate health and movement science concepts, and are explicitly linked to key skills.
  • Revise and Summarise questions and online quizzes for every chapter test recall and consolidate key terms and concepts and are valuable revision tools.

  • Chapter summary dot points, and exam-style questions at the end of each chapter provide opportunities for students to apply their knowledge and understanding and prepare for the types of questions they may encounter in exams.

  • Teachers can also give students access to custom NESA-style practice exams to be completed in exam conditions or used for revision.

  • The new Depth Study and Collaborative Investigation are explicitly addressed in separate chapters to provide guidance on expectations, suggested topics and appropriate scaffolding of content.
  • A wide range of videos help students understand and engage with concepts visually and include animations demonstrating physiological processes, case studies, and exercise and activity demonstrations.

  • QR codes in the print textbook provide immediate access to selected videos.

  • Auto-marked quizzes for each chapter allow students to practice and apply their learning as they go, and test recall of key terminology and concepts.

  • Additional support for the depth studies and collaborative investigation in the Interactive Textbook includes an exploration of different types of depth study and formats for a student final presentation, information about the elements and process of collaborative investigation, checklists, and other tools.  A dedicated section on research skills is also included.
