The series takes a multidisciplinary approach to teaching the Humanities and Social Sciences to reflect the intent of the WA curriculum. Overlapping and interconnected areas are comprehensively highlighted and explored through new:

A variety of rich and engaging scaffolded activities provide teachers with flexible options for developing skills and concepts for all subject areas.

Check your understanding activities include three levels of questions that allow you to target activities according to each.

Recall, Interpret and Argue review activities at the end of every section provide additional differentiation opportunities and help your students build their skills and prepare for further studies. The Year 9 and 10 resources also include an Extension question category to extend your capable students. 

Downloadable worksheets, crosswords and literacy sheets provide even more opportunities for differentiating tasks for your students.

Additional support for building core maths skills

New targeted skillsheets are included for every section and focus on a single skill or small set of closely-related skills. Each skillsheet includes between eight and ten questions, with a related worked example from the textbook listed for each question. One optional problem-solving question is also included.

Exercise questions have been restructured to give students more opportunities to embed core skills before attempting harder questions, ensuring a greater chance of success as the questions increase in complexity.

Vital support for differentiated learning

New video content to support skills development and provide engaging context to  topics.

Content is closely aligned to the new WA curriculum including the new history units: Deep Time History of Australia in Year 7 and Australian history (1750-1914) in Year 9 and other new content including:

  • The transformation of the medieval world to the early modern world in Year 8 History
  • The continuing efforts to create change in the rights and freedoms in Australia for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and one other group in Year 10 History
  • Young people’s rights and responsibilities when interacting with law enforcement in Year 8 Civics & Citizenship
  • The role of ethical decision-making in production and consumption in Year 10 Economics & Business
